How to Add a Watermark — Step by Step

Upload your image

Click Select Image or drag and drop your photo. JPG, PNG and WebP are supported.

Choose watermark type

Switch to Text Watermark or Image Watermark tab depending on what you want to add.

Customize appearance

For text: type your text, choose font, size, color and opacity. For image: upload your logo and adjust size and opacity. Use the Tile option to repeat the watermark across the entire image.

Position the watermark

Best Practices for Watermarks

Opacity between 30 and 60 percent is usually ideal — visible enough to be protective but not so distracting that it ruins the image for viewers
Position in the corner or across the center depending on your goal. Center placement is harder to crop out but more intrusive
Use the Tile option for maximum protection — a repeated watermark pattern across the entire image cannot be cropped out
White text with slight shadow works on both dark and light backgrounds
Include your website URL in the watermark text so even if the credit is removed from the caption, the image itself still leads back to you
